Purslane

Search entire market by all or part of product name:

Purslane is a naturally occurring herb, which originated in Persia (modern Iran). It is now found around the world.

Purslane has the highest density of omega oils of any plant on the planet, and it rivals the omega concentration of fish.

It has a fresh somewhat nutty taste, and can be eaten as a snack or added to salads.

Commercial nurseries and corporate home-supply chains sell it as ground cover. It has colorful flowers. The commercial products should not be eaten.

Many Floridians consider it a weed, and it is often pulled up or poisoned with herbicides.

If you purchase purslane for consumption, be sure you are acquiring it from an organic grower who is harvesting wild (naturally occurring) purslane.
