You've enjoyed our Springs Coast 3F Robust Arugula, now you can grow your own. We've been saving arugula seeds here at Friendship Farms & Fare for over a decade. These seeds are from a family dating back more than ten generations (10 years) of continuous growing in our New Port Richey gardens. They are well acclimated to our soils and weather conditions. They like the cooler weather but will continue to thrive into the early summer.

Hill Country Red originated in Texas, and does very well in our Springs Coast Watershed climate and soil. This is our second largest okra (only Star of David is larger). Pods are similar in size to the Davids, with walls that are not quite as thick. Prolific producer. Seeds are from plants grown through six generations (6 years) at Friendship Farms & Fare. Image is of a typical cluster of Hill Country Red pods. Largest pod is cluster would be too big (woody) for food use. That's one we saved for seeds - like those you'll receive in this order. Red Burgundy okra is a medium sized variety. Smaller than Hill Country Red and Star of David. Similar in size to Silver Queen. The pods are just a slender with a slight of ridges. Pigeon Peas are an easy to prepare locally-acclimated legume. Called a "pea," in culinary use it functions more like bean. Can be eaten raw (right out of the pod) when fresh or dried and used as one would use any dry bean. Delicious flavor. Friends from Puerto Rico report that it is the "national bean" of the island. Fast growing and easy to care for. Thrives in hot weather. Drought tolerant. Prolific producer. In season, good harvests can be expected weekly. Grows into a medium-sized shrub. Accepts trimming for size and space considerations. Beautiful flowers, which attract pollinators. Pods are a deep red. Very successful results at Friendship Farms & Fare and Grand Gardens.
